Birch Plywood

Birch plywood is known for its excellent strength, stiffness and resistance to warping and impact. This makes it especially suitable for heavy-duty floor and wall structures. It also has excellent surface hardness, damage resistance and wear resistance.

Treated Sheets

While all of our standard ply sheets use WBP (waterproof and boil proof) glues the faces and edges of ply are susceptible to water ingress which will ultimately lead to fungal and de-lamination of the sheet. By pressure treating whole sheets of ply with Tanalith E (Tanalising) the effects of moisture are reduced. Tanalising is an established and proven method of proofing timber against weather, fungal and insect damage.

When this ply is cut into smaller sections we recommend that the edges should be treated with a suitable preservative to prevent the ingress of moisture and de – lamination of the ply. We stock a range of treatments suitable for this purpose and will be happy to advise on your individual requirements.

Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres. It is denser than plywood and does not contain knots or rings, making it more uniform than natural timbers during cutting and in service. MDF is also available in moisture resistant format for more demanding situations.
